Jody Wallace is a fiction author and freelance editor who took up tap dancing after she turned forty. Now that she’s been dancing for fifteen years, she is thrilled by the opportunity to teach beginner tap at Stage Right and share her great enthusiasm for making noise with your feet. She is most influenced by rhythm tap (except with music!) and always likes to write down what she has learned so her body and brain can be more in sync. In beginner tap with Ms. Wallace, dancers will focus on the basics - all the ways their tap shoes can make sounds, how to take simple moves and build them into classical tap steps, multiple rhythms dancers can achieve to blend with their music, and hopefully an appreciation for this art form that is enjoying a resurgence in popular culture.
