Alora Perkins has been dancing since she was 6 years old. She started taking ballet and has taken on modern, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, broadway, tap, and has participated in the competition team as well. Alora trained at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, in New York City, for six weeks during the summer of 2019. During her time there she studied Ballet, Graham based modern, Horton modern technique, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. Alora is currently a student at Summit High School. She is actively involved in Summit’s Thespian Society and Best Buddies program. She has been participating in school plays since she was 10 years old. The first musical she performed in was Into the Woods, where she played the part of Cinderella. Since then she has gained a huge passion for theatre. She has been in many of musicals including: The Little Mermaid (Flotsam), The Music Man (Ensemble and Featured Dancer), Snow White (Ensemble), Anne Frank (Meip), Mary Poppins (Neleus), and several other lesser known plays. She also participated in Seussical the Musical (Thing 2, Who, Hunch) with the acting company Act Too Players. Alora has choreographed the musicals The Little Mermaid and Annie for Spring Station Middle School’s productions. She is very passionate about dance and theatre and plans to pursue a career in musical theatre after graduating high school.
